Cheating Policy: Any student caught cheating will receive a ‘0’ that cannot be redone, lonely lunch, and parents will be notified. This includes using AI programs without teacher permission.

Failure to turn in assignments after the five school days, the assignment will receive a ‘0’. (Extended time will be given for prolonged absences.)

Grading Scale
A – 100-93 B- 85-92 C – 75 – 84 D – 70 – 74 F – 69 and Below
Grading Policy
Daily/ Homework = 60%
Quizzes = 30% Labs = 10%
Quizzes:
- Quizzes are usually given every Friday over the week’s materials covered in class.
- Quizzes are given and graded immediately when finished. Students will then immediately redo the questions they miss for half credit if they get the correct answer.
- Quizzes are taken out of 100 possible points.
Labs:
- If a lab day is missed due to absence, then that lab will be excused and not count against the student’s grade.
- Students and parents/guardians will sign a lab safety contract. Students must have a signed safety contract returned to participate in lab activities. If a student does not have a safety contract signed by a parent/guardian, they will be given an alternative assignment to work on.
Daily/ Homework can be taken out of 25 possible points (scale below) or 100 possible points:
✔ = 25 points (100%) [All work completed and correct or just 1 or 2 incorrect, dependent upon # of Questions]
✔- = 20 points (80%) [More than half (70%-80%) of work completed and correct]
12 = 13 Points (52%) [ Half of work completed or correct]
5/25 = 5 Points (20%) [Less than half of work completed or correct]
0 = 0 Points (0%) [No work done or not turned in]
Notebook: Students will be required to bring their binder with them to class every day.
Assignments: Nightly assignments will be limited and are used to practice skills already introduced. Good use of classroom time will limit the amount of time required at home to complete assignments. Most assignments should be completed in class if they use their time wisely.
Late Work Policy: All assignments are due on their due date. No Exceptions unless you are absent. Refusal to do assignments will result in the following steps being taken:
1st Offense: Lonely recess and 20pts off grade
2nd Offense: Lonely recess and parent notification
3rd Offense: Lonely lunch and specials
After the third offense, a grade will be given on work completed, or if no assignment has been completed a zero will be given. If missing work becomes a regular occurrence, a parent/teacher conference will be scheduled to discuss a plan of action.
Modifications will be made on an individual basis when required.
Technology Use: Students will often have assignments online, such as Google Classroom. Students will be allowed to use computers during a specific time in class.
